Happy Fourth of July!!

Yesterday John,I, Lewis and Marcy went into Pittsburgh to take part in their "3 Rivers Rigatta" which is fun to say... "rigatta" :) We had SO MUCH fun!! The day was perfect, a little cloudy, kind of cool and perfect for walking around and checking out the sites. We got to see this stunt bmx rider (a "rail" rider) do amazing stunts hopping from one place to another, here he had taken off his front tire and was hopping across these triangle things. We walked across the river, found a great spot on the grass and watched amazing motorcross stunt guys fly through the air doing amazing things! They also had these speed boat races going on. The best was the announcer guy who was almost hysterical calling the races. Our favorite lines were, "Somebody get me a PACEMAKER, I think I'm havin' a heart attack here!!" and "People, are you SEEING THIS? If you don't have tears in your eyes watching this thing, YOU GOTTA A PROBLEM!!" He was quite entertaining :)

And the most amazing event of the night was the firework show. Really, afterwards we all had our jaws on the floor looking at each other. We had no idea that firework shows can be that amazing!! They bring a barge out on the river and play awesome "gotta love america" kind of music: some country, some rock, some symphony music, we listened to part of Martin Luther King's speech, the declaration of independence, John F. Kennedy's "Ask not what your country can do for you..." I'm totally convinced that listening to music or words that inspire the foundation of what your country is built upon, is the only way to watch the 4th of July fireworks show!

Click on the video below to watch the finale with us... you may need to turn down the sound a little.. its hard to get the true perspective of how big and broad these fireworks were. Keep in mind all of these are being lit from a barge that is probably 200 feet long in the middle of the river. Enjoy!! (remember, turn down the sound)
