The new IMED hospital in Murray
This huge new hospital was finally completed in Nov. of 2007. Everyone moved in before it was completely ready and there were several days of lots of stressed out nurses and doctors and pharmacists because not all the equipment was all there, or working correctly. Finally things have settled and life seems to be happy. The "Heart and Lung" wing is where John works. 5th floor up.
The new technology is really cool. A patients nurse has their own little window where they work with all the monitors and computers right outside the patients door but can still check on their patients easily through the glass. The patient can also choose to have the curtain cover the window so they have more privacy.
The views from the rooms are pretty nice. Although right below the patients window is "Northern Exposure" which is a strip club. :) John is always commenting on how many people were there at lunch, or breakfast, or anytime of the day really. I've heard they have really great FOOD, that must be why they are so popular! But, if you look BEYOND that, the mountain views are quite beautiful.
Ahhh... John's own little locker, how cute is that?
I got to go through with John before the hospital was opened for the public. We got to explore the new surgery rooms and enjoyed all the cameras!
