Hayden's new tricks

Before I write an update about Hayden, I want to just congratulate both Lewis and John for finishing the LAST test that they had to pass before they graduate next month. Both of them have been under a tremendous amount of pressure the past several months and everything came down to passing this last comprehensive test in their program (and of course their Board exams at the end of Dec) and their program director has done his best to scare and threaten each of the students to the point that John was pretty nervous stepping into that test on Friday. But, he passed his last test and as this weekend has progressed I have slowly watched John's anxiety and ... WEIGHT of the last couple of years leave his face and shoulders. Its a beautiful sight. He was pretty dileriously giddy Friday night. :)

Oh, and those of you who are going to come visit us in Chicago... we can't wait! ;)

Now, onto Hayden. Seriously, are all babies this wiggly? She twists and turns and does push-ups and tries to crawl up anywhere. She still can't crawl yet, but she's close! She likes to sit and then she will get up on all fours and s-t-r-e-t-c-h as long as her little body will allow her to, grab the object and quickly return to her sitting position. She's really close to crawling though. She also is strong, she can easily pull herself off the floor onto her feet so that she's standing up and she can stand up by herself for a pretty long time.

She has definitely entered the stage of "separation anxiety", no matter how close she is to me, if someone that she's not super-familiar with, picks her up, then she starts fussing and reaching for me anxiously. I keep telling myself that this is a phase and one day I will miss the days where she prefered to be super-glued to my side. :)

Her mouth is filling up with more teeth, aside from the two lower ones that have come in, her two top canines have come in. We have lovingly nicknamed her our little vampire.

Her newest tricks are sitting up by herself and clapping when we cheer for her. :) We caught her on video tonight after dinner, she was pretty tired when we filmed her, but still pretty cute.

At night, John will put on "House of Pain"'s song, "Jump Around" and then just let her jump to her hearts content. She will seriously jump up and down for an hour each night. It has made us wish that we were 10 years younger, just to keep up with her!

those videos were so cute! We love the song!! Man she is so darling. She sounds like she is about to walk not crawl with the standing by herself. :)

She is cuuuuuute! I love her gorgeous hair! How fun that she is so mobile. Thor never pulled himself up on stuff. He crawled for a good long while and then just started standing up from a crouch in the middle of the floor. Maybe Hayden will skip crawling all together and just take off one day from the coffee table. It is so fun to watch them grow!
