Summertime!
Well, this summer was full of surprises! Most of you know by now that we are moving back to Moses Lake, WA. We still can't believe it. Even after we sold our house this Monday we still are disbelieving! That has been why I haven't posted in a LONG time, that and the fact that being a mom of a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old is crazy busy! I only have 15 minutes until Hayden wakes up from her nap -- I can't wait until they are on the same nap schedules, it will seem like the promised land!
Here are some of the pictures from the last couple of months -- it has been an incredibly HOT and HUMID summer here in Illinois and we are very much looking forward to getting back to the west and a drier climate.
These are pictures from our trip to Moses Lake in late June when John interviewed and we decided to change the direction of our lives once again and take the plunge. Its the right decision, there's no doubt, and the biggest perk of all..... 8 weeks of paid vacation!! Wowie, I can't wait until we can spend all that time together!!
We went up to Icicle Creek in Leavenworth, WA to soak up that heavenly smell of pine trees and camping grills. It was just as beautiful as ever and we can't wait to go camping there next summer!!
Moses Lake has built an outdoor Aquatic Center over the past few years and this was the first opportunity we've had to go play. It was great because April and her kids, Remi and Trent were home for a few weeks from their stay in Tai Wan so Hayden got to play with her cousins. It was great!
Everyone had to get flowers from my parents garden and put them in their hair. Remi was the hairdresser behind the "flowerchild" look they were all rocking!
We put the house on the market when we got back to Moses Lake -- whew, what a LOT of work!! It is such a pain to keep the house spotless, freshly vacuumed and especially de-cluttered everyday. We were lucky and had home showings almost everyday and we sold our house after only 2 weeks on the market. One of the Saturdays that we had to be out of the house most of the day to accommodate house showings, we went to a little kids amusement park that's close by. Hayden loved it and she went on her first roller coaster ride there.
Hayden wanted to take a picture with me and so I told her to smile :) She's working on what exactly that means, but she's getting there!!
Connor has the cutest giggle and nothing can make him giggle more than Hayden. Especially when she's jumping up and down. Then she starts laughing because he's laughing and then I can't stop from laughing because its so funny that he's laughing and her because she's jumping. Its just fun all around!
My friend Lindsey and I went to a train restaurant that's called "Two Toots". Its a cute little restaraunt where there's an electric train that delivers your food to your table. Its a darling little idea. We ride the train there and back. We missed our train back so we had to wait across the street at an Antique/Ice Cream/ Farm Victorian house. They had bunnies and ice cream.... what more could you want?
We move on September 12, we are planning on driving across the country with our two little tykes. I'm excited to see Mount Rushmore and stay at Wisconsin Dells along the way. We are crossing our fingers that we all make it there with our sanity safely intact! :)
