Frank Lloyd Wright

Well, John and his mom and I went to see "Fallingwater" which is about 30 minutes away from our house. It is one of Frank Lloyd Wrights most famous houses. It is pretty amazing because it is built right over the top of a waterfall.

Below you can see that from his living room inside, you can slide open a door that leads down the stairs to the water. They wouldn't let us take pictures inside because it would slow up the tours. They have tours every half hour and there were tons of people on each tour. The house had 4 bedrooms and each bedroom had a terrace and its own bathroom. Each bedroom also had a full wall of windows that you could open to get a breeze throughout the house. Over the terrace by the living room, as you you looked over the railing you were looking straight down a 30 foot waterfall. It was so interesting because the tour guide explained how Frank Lloyd Wright used the smallest details in the house to force the owner to move from the inside of the house to the outside. Like for instance, the inside hallways are very narrow and dark... he did that because he wanted you to move oudoors towards nature. John hated how tiny the hallways were. But, so interesting!!
